The North American Workshop on Laser Ablation (NAWLA) will be held at the Jackson School of Geosciences, University of Texas at Austin, May 25-27, 2017, immediately following the 8th International Climate Change: Karst Record (KR8) conference May 21-24. If you are involved with speleothem science and laser ablation, you may wish to make a week of it here in Austin.
NAWLA is a new biennial meeting held in odd years, alternating with the European Workshop on Laser Ablation in even years, with the mission to facilitate laser ablation knowledge transfer and promote community among North American laser ablation users. The 2015 inaugural meeting had ~110 participants and we expect much higher attendance at NAWLA'17. The workshop format includes invited plenary oral presentations, contributed oral and poster presentations, moderated discussion, and group workshop activities.
